Phones have had a very positive and negative effect on my life. I’ve been working in the music industry for 7 years now as both a music consultant and an artist. Having phones has made this job so much easier and convenient because it is so easy to get ahold of people nowadays because we are all connected. It has also made it easier than ever to discover and help develop new talent from all parts of the earth, for example from the comfort of my room I am helping manage a singer from London’s rebranding campaign and helping her redevelop her sound all from my bed room in Cincinnati Ohio. We are more connected than ever in today’s world but that also comes with a heavy price. Being as connected as we are has its downsides without a doubt. As a young kid I was exposed to a lot of cyber bullying through facebook because I had a big dream of making it in the music industry and people attacked me for it. I would post something I had worked on and it got shared around between people in a

Ted Talks

In the first Ted Talk video I watched it started out by focusing on tattoos which was interesting because he talked about how tattoos tell stories. He then linked tattoos to Facebook and other social media sites called them "electronic tattoos". He then brought up how our stuff saves our data from location to even facial recognition and pulled up an example of a photo taken with an iPhone and how the phone just based on the picture was able to tell you who was who. Then he brought up a picture of a bar and focused on one guy saying you could take a picture and get the name of the guy and all his social medias sand find out a bunch of stuff about that person without even saying a word to him. With electronic tattoos they will last much longer than we will and live on forever I would like to tie this to the artist Mac Miller who passed away about a year ago to this day you can still go find all of his stuff and they are even still releasing new music and videos from him that ha

My Presence Online

Looking at my online footprint I had to look at all the things that I use online. I might have a bigger online footprint than most due to the fact that I use social medias to promote my music and stay connected with my team. I use Instagram everyday to help promote my music and keep my fans up to date on future releases and what is going on in my life. I also have a personal website for the company I started and a google tab for my music. I mainly just use Instagram nowadays but I used to also use twitter and Facebook a lot but as time has passed it has become mainly instagram. I have my music linked to the profile along with my website for people interested in the services I offer. The information that someone could easily find from going to my profile is a way to get ahold of me both my email and my phone number for work are on the page. I have mainly just given out my email to other sites because they are subscription based sites for music such as "LANDR" and "Wetrans

Diffusion of Innovations

I would like to talk about the "Diffusion of innovations" with the app Tik Tok specifically. When the app first started out there was a majority of early adapters that consisted of people who used to make "vines" before that app was shut down. Those influencers brought their fans and followers to the app and help the app kick start its life span. The app has grown and changed over the past couple months with updates and just overall ideas for videos inside the app. I was personally one of the "late" people to this app because I never understood its appeal but after being on it I've found out that it is a lot like "Vine" which is a big reason why people my age are so into it because a lot of us had vine as a big part of our everyday lives while the app was still around. The marketing campaigns that Tik Tok has their major "stars" do on their social medias help drive more and more young people towards the app which will overtime cemen

Speech Theories

Today I would like to talk about "Marketplace of Ideas". Marketplace of ideas was an idea first introduced by Milton who said "when truth and falsehood are allowed to freely grapple, the truth will win out". This statement has so much truth behind it especially during great times of crisis like the one we are all in right now with this pandemic. This statement he made because he didn't believe that people should need to have a license to print or publish their ideas. The idea is that the truth so factual sources will always beat out the sources that are spreading false information but people have the right to be able to say whatever they want to. With this pandemic we have all seen a good amount of false information being spread around with the intention of selling products which it goes crazy at first but these pages and people are always put in check but reputable sources that are standing up for the people and making sure everyone is properly informed about s

EOTO assignment

For this assignment I would like to talk alittle bit about the first text message ever sent. I was the one that did this topic but I felt like I should address it little more. The first text being sent changed about everything there is in this world and how the world would operate moving forward. If you really take time to reflect about your past day I want you to think about the main form of communication that you used to talk to friends or family especially during this Pandemic. A majority of you will say that it was text. The first text ever sent even though it was simple was world changing. Neil Papworth who was an engineer sent a text saying nothing more than "Merry Christmas" to the Vodafone director Richard Jarvis on December 3rd 1992. Ever since that very simple text was sent nothing has been the same and our way of communicating was changed for the better.

Anti War

Image
On Antiwar.com I read an article titled "US forces conduct airstrike on Taliban soldiers just days after agreement signed". On Wednesday US forces bombed Taliban freedom fighters that were attacking government checkpoints. This whole situation is a big deal because the US and Taliban had a deal to withdraw our troops if there is peace. The Taliban began attacking government checkpoints anyways. They also made an announcement that they are going to resume attacks against the government. This puts a lot of pressure on the US because we have to stand up and protect our partners overseas. This was just a week after the deal was signed. The language used in the article was very anti war and trying to paint the picture of everyone wants peace. The recent actions by the Taliban has brought into question their intent to actually holding up their end of the deal.
